Jeanne Obergfell Armbruster, 52, of Indianapolis, IN gracious, zealous, kindhearted, sentimental, righteous, darling and adorable, joined her mother, Marie, dad, Richard and brother, Rick in their heavenly home on June 16, 2016.

She is survived by her soul mate, Michael and their sons, Andrew (Kiersten), Paul and Michael; mother-in-law, Anne Armbruster; siblings, Janet Huck, Terri, David (Jackie), Joe (Carol), Dan (Vicki) and Rick’s wife Angie Obergfell, Stephen (Patty), Daniel (Nancy), Robert (Marijane) Armbruster, Mary Tieken (Dan), Beth Mislan (Mike), Suzanne Bennett (Gregg), Rosanne Strevels (Lee), Estelle Britner (Mark) are joined by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews who were blessed by Jeanne’s life.

Having the knack to make each person she is with feel they are the most important person in the world, she felt compassion, empathy, and love for all of God’s creation, especially her Indianapolis Public School, Saint Barnabas, Marian University, and Roncalli families. Indianapolis Public Schools was her second family for 30 years. Most important to Jeanne was the success of each of her students. Her faith was deeply rooted in her parish, her “CHRP sisters”,and those of you who were her sisters from other mothers. In addition to all of those lives more importantly, she held close to her heart her sister, Terri. For many years she, Michael and the boys were her primary caregivers. Running became a way of life for Jeanne and as in all things she excelled.

Through her entire life Jeanne feared nothing because she believed if God leads you to it he will get you through it.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 19, 2016 from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Barnabas Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, Jeanne’s family requests donations be made to the New Hope of Indiana Fredrick’s Home or St. Meinrad Archabbey, The Bob Armbruster Scholarship Fund.

  1. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Armbruster and Obergfell families.  Jeanne’s beautiful smile will be sadly missed.  May you each find peace in knowing that there is no doubt that she is resting peacefully in her heavenly home.  Although, I’m not quiet sure how much she is “resting”.  I believe she is busy looking after the lives of those left behind.
