Jilly Bond

64, of Greenwood, Indiana, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on July 27, 2026. Jilly was born on April 5, 1962, in Indianapolis, Indiana and adopted by Chester & the late Betty Bomaster. Jilly was a good and faithful servant who dedicated her entire life to following Christ and faithfully obeying God’s call. Jilly touched countless lives and hearts with her infectious joy and wisdom beyond her years.

Jilly was very devoted to her Catholic faith. She enjoyed serving on the Parish Council and working in Youth and Music Ministries where she helped shape young minds and hearts for a faith-filled future. Jilly was a kind, loving, and caring soul. She loved to be around people, and her smile would always light up a room. Jilly was passionate about music and could often be found playing guitar, piano, dulcimer, and pipe organ in her earlier years. If it had strings, Jilly could play it! Even, in the face of physical barriers due to her accident, she still found ways to play music, taking up the Xylophone and small percussion instruments. She never let her limitations stop her. She loved to write and compose music, often in the garage at night when the house was the most peaceful.

Jilly was passionate about animals and worked with a Golden Retriever Rescue as a foster home for quite some time. It was important to her that all animals were well taken care of. She was also a true self-proclaimed “Cat Lady” and had the joyful opportunity to have multiple cats from kittenhood through their elderly years, most specifically, Cleo, Fat Georgie, Mini (Minerva McGonagall), and Micro (Little Pickle). Up to her last moments she was still looking to acquire more cats to cuddle and love!

Since being a little girl Jilly loved the outdoors and camping. She spent many summers camping at Lake Monroe. The memories of those summers are deeply cherished by those that had the privilege of sharing those times with her. She enjoyed crocheting and horseback riding with Allie in her younger years, volunteering at Schooner Valley stables. Jilly loved hard and played hard. She was happiest when surrounded by her family. Her razor-sharp wit and unique sense of humor brought so much joy to those around her and kept us all on our toes.

Jilly is survived by her loving husband, Joel Bond; daughters and son’s in law: Allie Glover (Evans), soon to be Son in Law, Marcus Evans; and Ashley (Ryan) Davis; grandchildren: Hailee Long, Cassidy Evans, Natalie Davis, and Emily Davis; Cousin, but sister at heart, Max (Marcia Maxine) Fritch-Gall; Sister, Alexis (Lexi) Hirschauer McLaughlin; and Father, Chester Bomaster. Not by blood, but family none-the-less, beloved chosen family: Annie Barlow, Julie Barlow, and Terri Tolson.

Jilly is preceded in death by her brother; Jeffrey Bomaster; Mother, Betty Bomaster; and beloved service dog Patty Cakes.

The Bond family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Jilly’s loving & long-term caregivers, chosen friends, and family that have never wavered in their support and excellent care shown to Jilly over the years in her heath journey.

Services will be held at St. Barnabas Catholic Church (8300 S. Rahke Road, Indianapolis, Indiana) on Monday, August 3, 2026, Rosary will begin at 9:30, visitation from 10:00am-12:00pm with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00pm in the church, with a meal to follow in the parish hall.
