Lisa Ann Phillips

Lisa Ann Phillips, 54, passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family on November 10, 2016. She was born on August 15, 1962 in Minneapolis to Rita and John Phillips. She graduated in 1976 from Moundsview High School in Minnesota and shortly thereafter started a career in transportation with Overland Express. Her work with Overland led her to Indianapolis and eventually, in 1991, to her 25-year career with Joyce Van Lines, Inc. where she served as Assistant Secretary of the company, and President of AAA Executive Moving, Inc. Lisa worked right up to just weeks before her death. When not working, she enjoyed spending time with her son and was an enthusiastic spectator of his sports games over the years. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend to many. She had a warm heart and a quick smile that put friends and strangers alike at ease. She delighted many by playing piano, guitar, and singing her favorite tunes. She was very much loved and will be deeply missed. Lisa was preceded in death by her father, John Worthington Phillips and is survived by her son, Blakely Phillips-Powell; mother, Rita Phillips; sister, Laura Phillips (husband, Jeff Lanning); niece, Rachel Kelly; stepmother, Cory Phillips; stepsister, Beth Ann Leonard (husband, Steve Leonard). Guestbook

  1. Prayers for family and friends of Lisa for the loss to us all.  I worked with Lisa for many years mostly over the phone, however we had become friends during that time and I will miss her as I’m sure many other will as well.

  2. So sorry for your loss,  Lisa was a kind gentle soul and her  CYO sports family will miss her at the gym.  Prayers to the family. The Hammans Family

  3. So sorry for your loss. I too lost 3 people in the month of October. Something I really found comfort in was our hope in the bible. One particular verse found at John 5:28,29 reminds us of a resurrection of our loved ones. Knowing I will see my loved ones in perfect health one day is such an encouraging thought. I look forward to a peaceful earth myself. Ps 37:10,11 tells us the the wicked will be no more and the righteous will reside in the earth in an abundance of peace. We sure don’t have peace in this world now do we? I hope you can find comfort in these words as you deal will the heavy pain and grief.
