Louis J. Gillieron

May 10, 1953 ~ August 6, 2018
Louis J. Gillieron, 65, New Whiteland, passed away August 6, 2018. Lou was born May 10, 1953, in Ft. Wayne, to the late Robert and Helen (Freistroffer) Gillieron.
He graduated from high school in Logansport and attended Purdue University. He had been the owner of Vinyl Craft, Inc. since 1981. Lou attended Faith Missionary Church. Through the years, he enjoyed golf, bowling, and never turned down an opportunity to tell a goofy joke. Above all, Lou was always interested in helping others – whether it be to help mow a lawn, move furniture, or simply lend a listening ear. Lou will be fondly remembered by his family and friends.
Survivors include a daughter, Melissa Trackwell; former spouse, Victoria Gillieron; sister, Rosemary Hutzler; nieces, Michelle Hutzler and Caroline Golden.
Friends and family will gather Thursday, August 9, 2018, 5 to 7 p.m., in the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home. C.W. Mundy will offer words of remembrance at 7 p.m., and friends will be invited to share memories also. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Visit www.ORileyFuneralHome.com to share a favorite memory to sign the online guest registry.
You will truely been missed and never forgotten my friend… ߒ
I will miss being able to see and talk with Lou. He truly was a very kind and thoughtful person. May God watch over those of us left here, Mariena
Even more so than a supervisor, Lou was a trusted friend. He was the kind of person who would take a call at 7:00am and wonder what took you so long. That’s how much he cared about what he did. He never had to ask any of us to work as hard as he did. We wanted to, because it was Lou. There was never a question he wouldn’t answer, a helping hand he wouldn’t offer, a kind word he wouldn’t offer. What was most remarkable about my friend was his trademark comments. We called them “Lou-isms.” One of my favorites came at the end of a conversation, when he encouraged me to “keep smiling.” I will someday. For now, I reserve the right to fondly and tearfully remember him.
I will miss him and his kindness and wit. Most of all his support. Thank you Lou for believing in me and giving me a chance.
Lou would always stop in my office and say hello. He will be missed.
Lou will be greatly missed. He always had a smile on his face, quick with the wit, and genuinely enjoyed helping others. He was more than just a customer to my company. He truly became a friend. R.I.P. brother.
