Margaret A. (Lauer) McMahon

Margaret A. (Lauer) McMahon,94, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2016 at her daughter’s home in Greenwood, IN. She was born January 12, 1922 in Indianapolis to E. Regis and Mary Frances (Malone) Lauer. Marge graduated from St. Mary Academy in 1940 and married the love of her life, Fran McMahon, on October 26, 1946. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fran; and their son, Patrick J. McMahon and is survived by her 3 daughters, Mary Fran Guilfoy (Kevin) of Greenwood, IN, Phyllis Guilfoy (Paul) of Greenwood, IN, Teresa Ehalt (Jim) of Springfield, OH; brother, F. Leroy Lauer of Florida; and her daughter-in-law, Beth (Wilhem) McMahon. Marge was a wonderful mother and grandmother and loved being with her 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Marge was employed by SMT Guild for 20 years. She enjoyed teaching line dancing and watching Notre Dame football. A special thanks to Kindred Hospice for their care and compassion. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 28, 2016 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church with calling at the church beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church, 335 S. Meridian St., Greenwood, IN 46143. Online condolences may be shared with the family at orileyfuneralhome.com.
