Marla Kaye Richards

Marla Kaye Richards, 59, of Indianapolis, passed away at Community East Hospital on September 11, 2020 after a courageous battle with her health. Marla was born on August 1, 1961 in Sullivan, Indiana. On June 23, 1997 she was united in marriage to Kevin Richards; Kevin survives.
A caring person, Marla was an excellent mother and grandmother. She loved caring for children. In her earlier years, she enjoyed hiking and fishing when she was healthy. Strong willed and determined, Marla persevered through the difficult early years of her life all the way until the end; it is that positive determination that she will be fondly remembered for by all of her family and friends.
Marla is preceded in death by her father, Charles Jarrett and her granddaughter, Myla Brown.
Along with her husband, Marla is survived by her mother, Lois (Hufford) Jarrett; her children, Jennifer Bruce, Shane Jarrett, Julia Haste, Ryan and Tamara Richards; her grandchildren, Blaze Holman, Nova Brown, and Yuna Brown; her brothers, Steve and Mark Jarrett, and Rodney Shepherd; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Funeral Mass will begin at 12 Noon, Thursday, September 24, 2020, at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church, with a gathering there from 11 a.m. Please visit www.ORileyFuneralHome.com to leave an online condolence for Marla’s family.

I knew Marla from her mother Lois ,she and her daughter would come to DQ and eat lunch with us.She would bring goodies for her mom she even brought things for me. She will be greatly missed. Last time we spoke as she was leaving she hug me and told me she loved me, I said I love you to.She was a special lady.
I looked forward to the very late Saturday night walks ….there was always something to talk about the next day…Love you my wife

This is very hard to post. But marla was a wonderful strong willed women her and my son blaze her grandson were vary vary close since the day she met him at a few weeks old he is now 9 and misses his nana so much i know it isn’t going to be easy without his nana here anymore or when he goes to her house to see his papal kevin, or his aunt tamara and uncle ryan. I miss her as well we had many conversations through the years of knowing each other, she helped a lot with blaze and had him almost every weekend and most of the time durning blazes school breaks she just loved blaze so much and i know she’s watching over us. She will be missed dearly. I have posted a picture of marla blaze and ryan.
Marla was such a pleasure to get to know as we worked with her to care for Ryan and Tamara. She was such a kind woman and this is a real loss. God bless Marla. Brad and the team at Genoa
