Mary Elizabeth Weber

August 2, 1929 ~ February 11, 2021
Mary Elizabeth Weber, 91, passed peacefully with family members by her side on February 11, 2021.
Mary was the only daughter, and the first of five children born to the late William Francis Waddick and Mary (Dolan) Waddick. She was born on August, 2, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois and resided there until relocating to Indianapolis, Indiana when she was ten years of age.
Mary graduated from Saint Agnes Academy in Indianapolis and was offered a full academic scholarship to Marian College. She had other plans though, and married Joseph James Weber and began raising a family.
A loving mother and grandmother, Mary valued her Irish heritage and family always came first for her. Regardless, she still managed to find time to sell real estate, and worked as a billing clerk at Interstate Warehouse for many, many years finally “retiring” at the age of 78.
Mary loved to travel, with Ireland (of course) and San Francisco being two of her favorites. She remained an avid reader, loved flowers, birds, working in her yard, bowling (with many years spent on the Sport Bowling Women’s League), and watching golf. Though she would have preferred to be playing herself and at the age of 90 often threatened to get some clubs of her own. She was also a talented seamstress who loved sewing and doing arts and crafts.
Mary is being welcomed by her parents; her brother, William and his wife Claire; her daughter-in-law, Mary; and two cherished grandchildren, Alec Curtis and Evan Weber.
She is survived by her siblings: Thomas (Vernice), Daniel (Blair), and James (the late Barbara); her eight children: Joseph (Anne), Kathleen Hatfield, Christine Sigler, James, Mary Beth Bryant (Dennis), Eileen Shumway (David), William (Sherry), and Jeanine; her eighteen grandchildren, and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2021, 1 p.m., at O’Riley Funeral Home. Those wishing to livestream the service are invited to visit the O’Riley YouTube channel by visiting www.ORileyFuneralHome.com. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, please provide Memorial contributions to the Alec Curtis Scholarship Fund at Perry Meridian High School, 401 W. Meridian School Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46217.

I remember how she always had a smile on her face and was always wanting to make sure you got fed before you left. A wonderful woman who will always have a place in my heart. She also made the best Sweet Tea.
So sorry for your loss. Mary was a joy to be around. I worked with here at IWI and she always made busy days enjoyable. The drivers enjoyed her too. She will be missed.
I love you and miss you grandma!
Our prayers are with all of you. Tom,Vernice,Valerie, Caleb, Emily and Tyler

Mary Elizabeth Weber was my grandma and best. It’s hard for me to put in words the love I feel for. Grandma one of a kind. She loved all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren so much. Visiting with family was her absolute favorite activity. Grandma was 91 physically but felt in her 20s. She was so stubborn!! She would tell me how she could drive and play golf this year. Grandma loved to have garden. She loved plants and flowers. She also loved to eat. We would always shop at Walmart and get lunch to take home. Grandma was not a good driver using the electric carts at Walmart. She knocked over an entire display once. Well she might have had a few hit and runs. Grandma never complained either. She found a silver lining in everything. She was so positive and joyful ever time you talked to her. Grandma never wanted to be a burden either. She laid on the floor all night so she wouldn’t wake anyone up for help. Christmas, Christmas and Christmas!!! She loved Christmas. Other holidays too. If grandma had it her way , her apartment would be jammed packed with Christmas decorations. All year long. I could tell of the many times she ordered things at 3am. Things like exercise equipment and a air fryer. I will miss her so much. I can’t wait to see her again and play some golf. Love you to pieces grandma! ߘǢ۳️ߏ̯؏♀️ߒ
The best Grandma and gg a person could ever ask for. She was my biggest supporter and always wanted great things for me and my girls. She made my life such a joyful and loving experience. I wouldn’t be the man i am today if it wasn’t for her generous ways. The memories and laughs she made in my life are something i will cherish forever. Was sad to see you go but i know it was time. You where at peace and not in pain anymore. I miss you so much and i know mom does too. Forever in my heart and one day i will see you again. Till then protect us and watch over my girls. I love you forever and always. Thank you sooo much!!
Eden and I have another angel looking over us. It didn’t take long for me to realize why Evan loved her so much! She was truly one of a kind, loving, and a huge supporter in our lives. I never knew what a davenport was until I met grandma. I will forever be grateful that Jeanine made it possible for her to see Eden and I though technology. I will miss hearing Eden make her laugh. Our memories will be cherished forever!
