Matt D. Dillon

Matt D. Dillon, 60, Indianapolis, passed away December 24, 2020. Matt was born in Hillham, Tennessee on November 23, 1960, to the late Clyde and Ruth (Mace) Dillon. He married Lea (Carter) Dillon on September 24, 1983, and she survives.

He grew up in Indianapolis and graduated from Wood High School, where he was on the yearbook staff. Matt worked in physical therapy at Methodist Hospital before beginning a career in security. He worked for Pinkerton Security and Securitas. Matt had a strong work ethic and never turned down overtime hours to help provide for his family. He had been a member of St. Roch Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 3660 and more recently attended Indian Creek Church. Matt enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and was a wrestling fan. Above all, he was strongly devoted to his family. His selfless, hopeful and resilient spirit will always be remembered by his loved ones.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Lea; children, Kellie Dillon and Brian Dillon; sister, Margie McGarvey; three grandchildren, Myah, Kyree, and Maliyah.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 29, 2020, 12 Noon to 2 p.m., at the O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East Street. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood, at 2 pm, Wednesday, December 30, 2020. A procession will leave from O’Riley at 1:30 pm. So got to see Matt a lot, he was such a gentleman even back in our days of growing up. He was so respectful, polite and a caring young man. So blessed with Facebook because it allowed us to remain friends and keeping us in contact. Matt thank you for being part of our lives and sharing your time with us with your precious memories with your loving family.
