Matthew Steven Haas, 30, Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016. He was born in Indianapolis on July 4, 1985 to David and Julie Maestri Haas. Matthew was a 2004 graduate of Perry Meridian High School where he was a member of the wrestling team. He taught motorcycle and small engine repair at Central Nine Career Center and Ivy Tech. He had previously worked for Dreyer Honda West and South where he was a service manager. He is survived by his wife, Shannon Garrod Haas; parents, David and Julie Haas; siblings, David Jr., Tammi and Terri. Visitation will be Friday, May 27, 2016 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 10 a.m. in Holy Cross Catholic Church, 125 N. Oriental St., Indianapolis, IN 46202. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to donor’s favorite animal shelter or pit bull rescue. Matt was such a fun and carefree live life to the maximum kind of person. He was a good friend to me when we were in high school. He will be missed. My condolences and prayers to your family.

I remember him playing with me while you babysat us and made us mac and cheese after school. He used to spin me around in the office chair and make me so dizzy I couldn’t walk straight. I didn’t know him well, but I remember these fun memories and always saw him with a smile on his face and was always energetic. Matt will be greatly missed. My sincerest condolences go out to the Haas family during this difficult time. I pray that you may eventually find peace amidst the sadness of this tragic loss.

Me and my family are praying for Matts family and friends . He was a good friend . He would say that he looked up to me as a big brother . We loved sitting around and talking about bikes and guy stuff . We enjoyed going to the gun range together. He will definitely be missed.
