Michael L. Stout

Michael L. Stout, 78, Indianapolis, passed away February 16, 2023.  Mike was born June 20, 1944, at Camp Atterbury, Indiana, to the late Joseph H. Stout, Sr. and LaVonne (Pond) Stout.

Mike was born with cerebral palsy and was not expected to live a full life; however, the medical professionals did not know about Mike’s sense of determination and intelligence.  He attended Roberts School for Crippled Children in Indianapolis.  After school, he became the owner and operator of Stouts Rubberstamp Service.  When he moved to Florida after his mother’s retirement, he founded another business and operated AAAA Answering Service for several years.  Mike was always looking for ways to improve the status quo.  Armed with strong determination and with the help of Camp Riley, he learned to ride a bicycle and even swim on his back.  Mike’s memory will be forever cherished by his loving family.

Survivors include a brother, Joseph H. (Brenda) Stout of Indianapolis, Jr.; nephews, Kevin (Jill) Stout of Texas and Kyle (Jessica) Stout of Martinsville.

Private family services will be observed at the O’Riley – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville.  Visit www.ORileyBranson.com to share a favorite memory or to sign the online guest registry.

  1. Mike and my brother, Bart, were friends for years and years. They would talk on the telephone for hours and were members of some of the same groups. I’m sorry for your loss, but hope the inspiration of Mike’s full life will give you both peace and comfort.
