Nathan was afflicted with a rare genetic disorder called Late Infantile Batten disease. The Nathan’s Battle Foundation was formed to develop therapies for this disease. Nathan was one of the first participants in the first human gene therapy clinical trial for this disease. Other therapeutic developments were spawned from this research directly and indirectly leading to FDA approved drugs for this disease. Nathan was a true champion for this disease leading the way for therapies helping future generations of afflicted children to have therapy possibilities. Nathan is a hero to many. A disease that was once thought incurable now has therapy options. Nathan may have lost his battle but has helped to win the war against this disease.

  1. I have so many memories of the wonderful times Angie spent with Nathan, especially how she loved her time with him at the Blind School. She loved watching the Disney movies with him and hearing him sing along with the songs. She mentioned several times at Disney World this past October, the characters he loved, and his favorite rides. Thank you for what you shared with my Angie. She learned life lessons that we couldn’t have taught her, because you trusted her with your special blessings. Our love and prayers will continue to be with you, knowing that God’s enduring love will sustain you through this difficult time. We love you.❤️ߙ

  6. To the Family of Nathan, I am so very sorry to read of the death of your dear Nathan. Death seems so final, however the Bible promises a time when we will be able to see our loved ones again at John 6:40 and John 5:28&29. Also our loved ones at that time will never again experience pain suffering or death Revelation 21:3&4. May the “God of all comfort” 2 Corinthians 1:3&4 provide what you need at this very sad time. Once again my deepest sympathies.

  7. I am so sorry for your loss. May the God (Psalms 83:18) of comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3,4) comfort you with His words at Acts 24:15 “a resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous “, John 5:28,29 “ all those in the memorial tombs hear his voice and come out “, Revelation 21:3,4 “ no more death, pain or sorrow “ and Psalms 37:11,29 “live forever on earth in an abundance of peace “.
