Patricia Ann Schubach

December 15, 1933 ~ February 5, 2017
Patricia Anne Schubach, 83, Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2017. She was born in Indianapolis on December 15, 1933. Patricia was a loving wife, mother of 8, grandmother of 17, and great grandmother of 6 who always put others first. She was a wonderful cook who never let anyone leave her house hungry; a talented seamstress who could sew doll clothes as easily and readily as knit a quilt; a cheerleader for her family; a voracious reader; a woman of quiet strength, patience, generosity, kindness, and most of all, love. She devoted herself to her faith and her family. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Parish; worked in the kitchen at Roncalli High School; and spent most of her life in the service of others. She touched more lives than she will ever know. She will be greatly missed. Patricia was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathleen Grow and is survived by her husband, William J. Schubach, Sr.; children, William J. Schubach, Jr. (Gladys), Anne Wurtz (Robert), Timothy Schubach (Ann), Mary Johnson (Bubba), Michael Schubach, Patrick Schubach (Angela), Kristina Kirschner (David); 17 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in St. Jude Catholic Church. There will be additional visitation at St. Jude Church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Catholic Church or Roncalli High School. Online condolences may be shared with the family at orileyfuneralhome.com.

You all are in our thoughts and prayers. May you continue to thrive on the love and faith foundation your mom lived daily. May all the angels and saints receive her in communion and may you always feel her presence. In those difficult times, may they be brief, but may they help you appreciate the goodness of our Catholic faith and bring you into the fullness of truth in Christ some day as well !
Bill, Kris and all of your family members, so sorry we are out of state, but please know my heart is with you all. Pat was such lady, a smile and kind words to everyone. I cannot describe what a strong, loving, giving person she was to many. I had the pleasure of cutting her hair for years, we shared the bond of losing a child, and of course Roncalli. Then the blessing of our trip to Rome which was such an awesome experience. If I hadn’t already known what a neat person she was, being companions for 2 weeks proved that daily. Please know our prayers are with you as her journey has ended with heaven rejoicing and you all go on without her. Love to all, Ted and Sue Mandabach
Bill, you and your family are in my prayers. You and Pat were always special to me and Carol. May God bless you and your family. Love you all. Michael Prater
