Raymond Hider

Raymond Hider, 95, Indianapolis, passed away March 27, 2017. Mr. Hider was born April 24, 1921, in Indianapolis, to the late John and Sophia (Solomon) Hider.
He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Hider was employed with the United States Department of Transportation for more than 20 years. He was a member of the West Newton Masonic Lodge and the Murat Shrine.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth; brothers, David and John Hider; sisters, Ida Elick and Alice Lyons.
Survivors include his step-daughter, Linda Klein; nieces and nephews, Shaffeah Boyd, Zaheia Sanderson, David Hider, Alice Jo Goode, Jeneene West, John Hider, and Rose Whilacker; step-grandchildren, Diane Danzl and Stephen Smith; two step-great grandchildren.
The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Monday, April 3, 2017, in the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East Street (US Hwy 31 S.), with visitation there from 2 – 5 p.m., Sunday, April 2, 2017. A Masonic Memorial will begin at 5 p.m. on Sunday. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery.
