Ronald D. Purvis, 55, Indianapolis, passed away Friday, May 6, 2016. He was born in Indianapolis on December 3, 1960. Ron attended Franklin Central High School and was a graduate of Southport High School. He was a warehouse manager for Indianapolis Statuary Company where he had worked for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Michele Purvis Kelly and Lori Purvis Zainey. Ron is survived by his father, Arnold Gene Purvis; mother and stepfather, Betty Stapp (Lynn); daughter, Courtney Ellis; son, Matthew Purvis (Taryn); grandchildren, Zachary Collins, Taylor, Leah and Emma Ellis, Alleigh and Laylah Wilder, Maci and Isaac Purvis; sisters, Lisa Purvis-Hostetter (Greg), Teresa Stapp, Tamara Shropshire (Michael); brothers, Ed Stapp (Amy), and Don Stapp (Megan). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 11 a.m. in St. Jude Catholic Church with visitation at the church beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Mt. Such a great brother, friend and like a father to me. I will cherish our times together.
Lisa, Mike and I will remember Ron, as well as you and your family in our prayers. We all grew together as a family, going through the RCIA class a few years back; our hearts are breaking for you.
