Very difficult to lose Ron. He was a mentor, leader and one of the best bosses I had during my time at MCSD. It was Ron who among others encouraged me, supported me and he was the person who when I doubted myself convinced me I had the ability to go to college. He gave me significant responsibilities and let me find my way, guiding me down the path. He taught me finance, how to deal with the Council, the art of compromise, grant writing and much more. My success in life has been the result of contact with a few tremendous mentors who believed in me. Ron Chappell was one of the best. He was a brilliant – strategic thinker, and a nurturing soul. He was always found the bright side of things and provided support and assurance when it was needed most. I will miss Ron and but I want Colin and his family to know what he meant to me and many others he helped along the way. Mike Russo MCSD Retired
