Saoirse Marie Hall Riggins

August 22, 2021 ~ March 28, 2022
Saoirse Marie Hall Riggins, the infant daughter of Dr. Daniel Patrick Hall Riggins and Lauren Marie Hall Riggins of Indianapolis, passed away at 33 weeks and 1 day on March 28th, 2022 (now considered to be her birthday) and was delivered on Friday, April 1, 2022, at Franciscan Health Indianapolis. She weighed 4 pounds, 2 ounces, and was 18.5 inches long. Saoirse had her daddy’s thick, wavy, brown hair, and she had her mommy’s nose and face shape; she was whole and perfect in every way.
Up until March 28th, Daniel and Lauren experienced a great pregnancy with Saoirse aside from Mommy’s bouts with morning sickness. Saoirse kept her mommy on a strict diet of eggs, cheese, and bread. Saoirse enjoyed working out with Mommy, getting in some relaxation whenever Lauren got on the elliptical or weekly pregnancy workouts with friends, Claire, and Rebecca. She also enjoyed cuddling with her feline siblings, Pia, Mene, and Midnight, dancing around in Mommy’s belly, attending Colts games, and hearing her daddy say, “I love you so much. I’m so proud of you, Baby.”
Saoirse traveled to many locations during her short time. She went on work trips with mommy to locations such as Texas, or Nevada, and to West Palm Beach for a women’s leadership conference. She frequently visited Dad at his job in Chicago. She visited friends and family in Annapolis, Bloomington, Boston, Cincinnati, DC, Tampa Bay, and the Smith family summer cottage in Wisconsin. The most recent adventure Lauren and Daniel went on during their pregnancy was to Memphis, Tennessee, where they went to the National Civil Rights Museum, BB King House of Blues, and the famous Peabody Hotel to see the ducks.
She was with her mommy during her last semester of doctoral classes and when she passed her qualifying exams.
Saoirse is being held in heaven by her paternal great grandfather, Pat Riggins, her maternal great grandmother, Barb Szurlinski, her great aunt, Katie, her great aunt Judy, and cousin Michael.
Along with her parents, Saoirse is survived by her paternal grandparents, Linda and Mike Riggins; her maternal grandparents, Donna and Larry Hall; aunts and uncles, Adam and Viola Hall, and Laura and Sam Muse; her older cousins who were excitedly anticipating her arrival, Levente and Lili Hall, and Theo and Rory Muse; paternal great grandparents, Dotti Riggins, and Betty and Jerry Smith; maternal great grandparents, Glenice and Curtis Hall; and a special little sister to Daniel and Lauren, Dalionna Marie Jones; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.
Daniel and Lauren would like to thank every person who has reached out with words of love and support for them during this time as well as with flowers, pastries, or other gifts. The memory of Saoirse’s life will be cherished and will remain forever in the hearts of those who love her dearly.
A memorial service honoring Saoirse’s life is in the process of being planned. That information will be added to the obituary at a later date. Funeral arrangements for Saoirse are entrusted to the O’Riley-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, 6107 South East Street, Indianapolis, IN. 46227. In loving memory of Saoirse, please consider making a memorial contribution in her name to Love, Lucas at www.LoveLucas.org or by mailing donations directly to P.O.
