Saundra “Sandy” P. Hillman, 75, Greenwood, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017. She was born in Indianapolis on September 1, 1941 to Herbert and Margaret Schilling Pennington. Sandy was a graduate of Sacred Heart Grade School and High School. She retired from Holy Name Catholic School as the school secretary. She had previously worked for Indiana National Bank and Perry Township Schools. Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Hillman; her brother, Herb Pennington and is survived by her children, Jim Hillman (Kathy) and Anjanette Richhart (Mark); sister, Alice Bunte (Jack); brother, Joe Cortner; and 5 grandsons. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 10 a.m. in St. Mark Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation. Online condolences may be shared with the family at orileyfuneralhome.com.

Dear Jim and Anjie, I am sorry you have lost your mother. Sandy and I have been friends 61 years, and what wonderful memories we have shared! I will miss her, but she’s suffered long enough. Now she is in a good place where there is no suffering, and I take comfort in that. I hope you can also. Y’all are in our prayers, and my thoughts are definitely with you.

I am very sorry for your loss.I am very happy she will no longer suffer.Sandy bought a lot of happiness in my life.She allowed me to take pictures of her paintings which I really enjoy.Walking down the hallway and hearing her and her frinds laughing had to make you feel good if you were feeling terrible.My prayers are with you.
