I first met Shirley when she moved from New York to Oklahoma to live in Arbor House assisted living facility. We hit it off immediately as we shared being fans of the New York Mets baseball team as well as a dislike for their crosstown rivals, the New York Yankees. We talked baseball and Shirley shared with me that her first favorite team, the Brooklyn Dodgers had sadly moved to California and the Mets eventually replaced them. Since I have never been to New York, I always like hearing Shirley tell stories about living in Brooklyn and all of the things to see there. I told her I would have to visit someday. Shirley was a very nice lady and always treated me well. I know she will be deeply missed by her family and I will miss her as well.
