Stephanie R. Sabina

Stephanie R. Sabina, 45, of Indianapolis, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022, after a courageously fought battle with appendix cancer for the last 13 years. She was born on February 20, 1976, in Franklin, Indiana to Dennis Mason and Betty (Summers) Haney. Stephanie graduated from Franklin Community High School in the class of 1994 and then went on to attend IUPUI. On January 15, 2000, Stephanie wed Jim Sabina in St. Paul Catholic Church in Marion, Indiana.

A devoted wife and mother, Stephanie spent the last 15 years of her life staying at home caring for her precious daughter, Carrianne. She was a frequent volunteer at St. Jude Elementary School through the years. Stephanie was a gifted singer and loved art; she was extremely artistic. A lover of travel, Stephanie enjoyed many trips to Florida, Arizona, Canada, Korea, Mexico, Japan, Jamaica, and France. A member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Stephanie was active in making rosaries.

Although shy in nature, Stephanie had a bold persona when around those she was close to. She deeply loved her daughter. Despite the difficult treatments she endured, Stephanie was dedicated to surviving for her family. Her thoughtful spirit, gorgeous singing voice, and love for her family will be deeply missed.

Stephanie was preceded in death by her father, Dennis Mason, along with her grandparents.

Survivors include her husband of 22 years, Jim; beloved daughter, Carrianne; mother, Betty (Summers) Haney; Sisters-in-law, Anna Hylton and Theresa (Jamie) Pinder; Brother-in-law, John Sabina; her best friends, Betty and Mina; and her Sister of the Heart, Bridgette; a host of aunts and uncles, including her favorite aunt, May.

Stephanie’s Life Celebration® Visitation will be held Thursday, February 10, 2022, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the chapel at O’Riley-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, 6107 South East Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. Morning prayers will be said at the funeral home prior to the celebration of Mass on Friday, February 11, 2022, at 9:30 AM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 11, 2022, at 10:00 AM by Father Peter Marshall in St. Jude Catholic Church, 5353 McFarland Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227.
