Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I will miss you dad! Yesterday your 5 children sat around looking through pictures and there were TONS. We talked about old times. All the birthdays, holidays, school functions, and family parties. You were a big part of all our memories of these events! I was your first born and probably the most difficult one but you are my one and only dad. You were always there for me, through all of life’s ups and downs. My greatest childhood memories were doing the simple things with you like stringing popcorn on a string for our Christmas tree. I will miss you dad!

  2. Steve- I will miss your huge smile and kind heart! You were the volleyball king – my favorite when we visited Indy from MI. I’m sure your Dad and Sue are welcoming you home!

  3. My dear sweet poker buddy-I will miss your great smile your poker stories and your occasional text letting me know what’s going on in your world. I’ll miss you my friend!❤️

  4. We are so sorry and send our Deepest Sympathy for the loss that you all are suffering with. May Steven Rest In Eternal Peace. God’s Peace to you all.

  5. To a man who was always a ray of sunshine in the poker room. Most poker players have commented on what a gentleman Steve was. With his kind words and bright smile always asking how everyone was doing. You could definitely see his light shine every time he entered the room. He will be missed by all and remembered fondly. Thank You Steve for the chance meeting. Bill and Kitty Shufflebarger.

  6. Steve buddy. I will miss your friendship, our poker table banter, our Tuesday breakfasts and your text messages. You fulfilled your life being such a positive role model for others. Always friendly and always a smile. Love you and miss you buddy….

  7. Steve, I will miss your kindness, your smile, your love for people and your love for the game of poker! I loved playing with you and learning from your little poker method! You will be missed my friend! I will try to continue the Tuesday morning breakfast! Until we meet again buddy! Love ya!!!!

  8. I’m still in shock Steve. I will miss our Tuesday morning breakfasts and our sessions at the poker table. Losing you will create a big hole in our poker game community for a long time to come. My heart goes out to your family.

  9. My condolences to Steve’s family. i haven’t seen Steve for a couple years but will remember his joy, Happiness and Kindness!!!! Also the great hospitality that Steve and Jane gave all of us at poker night—I miss those nights. God Bless you Jane and the Family

  10. Steve will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. One of the kindest most gentle men I have ever known. Rest In Peace Mr. Gaither.

  11. I think everyone will agree, this picture of Steve says it all. I don’t think he had any other facial expression. Always smiling, having fun with lots of friends. He had some of the worst jokes ever, like the 'Sweet and Low' joke we heard many times. Us siblings will never forget when he landed Dad’s new 67′ Mustang on top of a huge rock that caused the oil pan to leak. That was back in the days when you got grounded. He would give you the shirt off his back and his T-shirt if you needed. both.

In retrospect, Steve was SWEET and LOW key always, Miss you big bro,

    Tom Gaither

  12. What an honor to have known your brother. God only picks the most beautiful flowers for his garden & he certainly got a rare beauty in Steve. Keeping good thoughts for his family during this difficult time. May he Rest In Peace… Susi (McGhee) Faith

  13. Jane, This is such a shock. Steve was always smiling and so sweet to my girls. We will miss his comments and posts on Facebook.. Love you! Karla

  14. He’s been my daughter’s bus driver at the Deaf school for several years now and we all just thought the world of Steve. Even though he didn’t know how to sign, they found ways to communicate and have fun. We were so blessed to have known him and will miss him dearly.
    Steve, Laurie & Claire Slawta

  15. Dear Janie,
Steve was a really great guy. He touched many lives in a positive way. He will be greatly missed.

    Thinking of you,
    Missy

  16. I met Steve several years ago over lunch at a Kaeser Convention. I always remembered his smile, his gentle nature and the Purple Monkey. I grew up in Carmel so we had the 'Hoosier' thing in common. He was a great presence in our Facebook page for Kaeser dealers and always gave great advice. I am so sorry that he is no longer with us but the many lives he touched for the good will last forever. My love and prayers to his wife and his family. He will be very much missed.
