Suzanne Beatrice Nelson

Suzanne Beatrice Nelson, 72, of Indianapolis, peacefully entered into heavenly rest on Friday, February 11, 2022, at Franciscan Health Hospital. She was born on May 4, 1949, in Evergreen Park, Illinois to Leslie and Elaine Schuttes Dykstra.

Family and friends knew Suzanne as a fun-loving person, who could make everyone happy with her contagious laugh. Suzanne was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church; her passions in life were shopping, playing the slot machines, but more spending time with her beloved husband, children, grandchildren, and friends.

Suzanne is survived by her husband Mark S. Nelson, who she married in Ashland, Wisconsin on March 5, 1975. She is also survived by her children Chris (Jennifer) Nelson, Malia (finance Scot Crum) Nelson, stepdaughter Kimberly (Gregory) Arianoff, grandchildren, Alyssa, Sarah, Samantha, Tony, Olga, and Yaeko, great-grandchildren Carter and Orion. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Leslie Dykstra sister Karen Leslie.

A Celebration of Suzanne’s Life will be held on March 5th, with receiving of family and friends from 1 pm to 3 pm, with a service to follow at O’Riley Branson Funeral Service and Crematory, 6107 South East Street, Indianapolis, IN 46227.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Suzanne’s name may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 3932 Mi Casa Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46237.

Meeting you official was the church picnic I sat at y’alls table dave was off making rounds chatting with people I had my hands shoes on you commented you liked them and could see yourself with a pair. We hit it off and hearing from your hubby you was leaving earth truly hurt my soul BUT knowing your with Jesus and in no more pain is comfort I will miss you thank you for being our friend love you my sweet friend..until we meet again

Sure wish we could have gotten together again in Indiana. Our hearts go out to Mark & family. You keep them laughing up there pretty angel. We loved you – go meet my parents. They’ll keep you laughing.
