Thomas Allen Dyer

Thomas Allen Dyer, 69, of Greenwood, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis. Born November 6, 1948 in Gary, Indiana Tom was the son of Sidney and Anne (Lloyd) Dyer; his parents preceded him in death. On January 3, 1970, he was united in marriage to his wife, Linda (Hensley) Dyer.
Tom graduated from Rose-Hulman in Terre Haute where he received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He was employed as a mechanical engineer at Pentek Corporation for several years and at Mainline Conveyor for the past 20 years. He was a member of the Center Grove Optimist Club, the Society of Mechanical Engineers, and Theta Xi Fraternity.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Linda; his son, Scott A. Dyer and his wife, Susan of West Lafayette; two sisters, Gloria J. (Gerald) Holeman of Union Mills, Indiana, and Phyllis A. Leimbacher of Valparaiso, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Tom Dyer from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 8, 2017 at the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East Street, Indianapolis.
