Thomas Edward Woelfel

November 5, 1957 ~ January 18, 2021
Thomas Edward Woelfel, 63, Indianapolis, passed away January 18, 2021. Tom was born November 5, 1957, in Franklin, Indiana to the late Donald C. and Alice Jane (Catt) Woelfel.
He graduated from Roncalli High School and attended Purdue University. When his sons were growing up, Tom was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church. He was also very active in scouting and had been a Boy Scout Troop Master for many years. Mechanically minded, Tom worked for 35 years for Great Dane Trailers, retiring in 2014. He enjoyed camping, wood working, and was affectionately known by his co-workers as Moose for his tall and commanding presence. He was strongly devoted to his family and firmly believed that his grandchildren not only hung the moon, but also the stars. Tom will be fondly remembered for his kindness and his willingness to always be helpful to those in need.
Survivors include four sons, Rob (Kim), Russell (Emily), Richard, and Randall; brother, Jim (the late Dinah); sisters, Joyce Woelfel and Janet Murray; four beloved grandchildren, Hunter, Logan, Isla, and Harper.
Cremation will take place and the family will hold a private memorial at the O’Riley Funeral Home.
