One of the classiest and sweetest men I’ve ever had the privilege to know. Tom was the manufactures rep for smarties candy when I started my career in 1980. He did everything he could do to make me feel comfortable, teach me about his market, and the candy industry as a whole. I got to know Tom’s family and developed a special kinship with his son, Jeff. More than once he “hustled” me on the putting green before teeing off. Great memories playing golf with Tom, working with him, and visiting him later in life when my son moved to Brownsburg. Rest In Peace my friend.
Eric, you were a favorite of my Dad! He loved and respected you so much! Thank you so much for the kind words!
Jeff I’m so very sorry to hear about your dads passing. He truly was one of the great ones back in the day when that group was, with much respect, we’re the candy industries iconic leaders! Your dad and that group took this young poor naive novice of a candyman and put me under their wings and mentored me like I was their son. They truly put me on a path to industry success I could not even imagine. I can’t begin to thank your dad and that infamous crew enough. Truly the good old days. I’m thrilled your dad had a wonderful life all the way to 93! That’s a great run. Mine made 90 and has been gone since 2010 and I talk to him and miss him every single day as I know you will your dad as well. Jeff thanks so much for the heads up and truly my most sincere condolences. Tom truly was one sweet guy! I’m also thrilled for your industry success and that you are carrying on this great sweet tradition for all of us!! Once again my sincere condolences. Always the best my friend. ߌȢ٥️ߙϰߏ¿ Stu Harris

Jeff thanks for letting me know. Your dad was a pleasure to work with when I was at Borden’s. We worked hard and played just as hard. The last few times we spoke was about the Notre Dame game against tennessee when your sister was there. Great memories. Take care.
Thanks for the kind word Rick! Dad always had a lot of respect for you and he enjoyed working with you very much! He was always asking me if we crossed paths after he retired.
