Victor Isada

Victor Isada, 82, of Indianapolis, passed away at Johnson Memorial Health Hospital in Franklin on December 29, 2019, surrounded by his family. Victor was born on May 28, 1937, in Lucban, Quezon, Philippines, to the late Rafael and Tranquilina (Jardin) Isada. On June 16, 1973, he wed Eleanor Upano in the Philippines.

Victor graduated from college in the Philippines with a bachelor’s degree in commerce. Victor had run his own printing company for many years in the Philippines until his move to Indiana in March of 1986. Victor worked as a clerk in the mail department at BMG Music Service until his retirement in 2001.

A devout Catholic, Victor and his family have been parishioners at St. Mark Catholic Church for over 20 years. Having a great sense of humor, Victor loved to laugh and joke around. Victor enjoyed playing tennis and golf; he taught all his children to play tennis and to enjoy and appreciate the game. Anyone acquainted with Victor knew his cooking was delicious; he especially enjoyed cooking for his family. Victor was known for his famous Filipino dishes such as embutido, tempura, and chop suey. Victor loved to sing karaoke with his family, dance, and listen to music. Some of Victor’s favorite artists include Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Perry Como, and Julio Iglesias. Victor loved to spend time with his family and friends. Victor was loved and cherished by his family; his full-of-life personality will be forever missed.

Victor is preceded in death by his parents and 6 siblings.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Eleanor (Upano) Isada; his children, Raymond (Gina) Isada, Victoria “Jenny” (Michael) Stefaniak, and Paolo Isada; grandchildren, Jude and A.J. Isada; siblings, Dolores Isada and Rafael Isada, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 3, 2020, from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. in the O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 South East Street, Indianapolis. Morning prayers will be said at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, January 4, 2020, in the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 A.M. on Saturday at St. Mark Catholic Church, 535 East Edgewood Avenue, Indianapolis.
