Anne Therese Armbruster

January 5, 1932 ~ October 27, 2021
Anne Therese Armbruster, 89, of Indianapolis left this earth to be with her Bob and her God on October 27, 2021.
Anne was born on January 5, 1932 to Ralph Joseph and Elizabeth Ann (Daly) Jansen. Anne was a devoted wife to Bob Armbruster, mother to 9 children and their honeys, Grama to 32 grandchildren and their honeys, and GG to 31 great-grandchildren. She was an unstoppable force who loved her God, her family, and her southside community in that order. She supported her honeys, grandhoneys, and great grandhoneys in everything they did with a passion and enthusiasm that couldn’t be matched. There is not a person who met Anne that didn’t come to love her. She gave hugs (with “2 arms, no patting”) that could cure all ills and her birthday and anniversary phone calls made every recipient feel like family.
Anne will be missed by all who knew her, but most especially her children: Stephen (Patty) Armbruster, Mary (Dan) Tieken, Daniel (Nancy) Armbruster, Beth (Mike) Mislan, Suzanne (Gregg) Bennett, Rosanne (Lee) Strevels, Michael (Jeanne) Armbruster, Robert (Marijane) Armbruster, and Estelle (Mark) Britner, her 32 grandchildren and their spouses whom she loved as her own, her 31 great-grandchildren, her sister: Estelle (Richard) Redoutey, her sister-in-law: Joan Armbruster, her brother-in-law: Bernard Eagan, and her many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life: Bob, her father and mother: Ralph and Elizabeth, her brothers: Paul and Joe Jansen, her sister: Mary Eagan
We now celebrate that Anne can truly “go with our Lord…every day in every way”. Anne’s Celebration of Life, Visitation will be Thursday November 4, 2021 from 4-8pm at O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East St. Indianapolis, IN 46227, with Liturgy of the Hours – Office for the Dead at 7pm. On Friday 9am prayers will be said at O’Riley Funeral Home and then a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am Good Shepherd Catholic Church 2905 Carson Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46203
Memorial contributions may be made to Roncalli High School Anne T Armbruster Memorial Fund or the Saint Meinrad’s Robert Armbruster Memorial Scholarship fund.

I was blessed to have known “Sunshine”-her love for Jesus was evident in how she lived…she is in the presence of The Son now and is shining like never before!
Suzanne & Family – Wishing you peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your hearts.
Anne, Catholic! The finest lady I have ever known. Years before I met her at St. Catherine of Siena Church Anne became the leader and friend to countless young girls the Catholic Daughters of America. Mothers and daughter dressed in green uniforms received pins and badges of honor as young Catholic women. Treasures of memories for Mrs. Armbruster fill our hearts and minds. I would like to make huge batch of camp “bug juice” so we could toast our wonderful counselor and leader. I will wear my CDofA pins and Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton pin to salute and edify this lady and my mentor. Thank you Mrs. Armbruster! Mrs. Weber and my Joanne greeted you in God’s arms. Hugs Forever

My Aunt Anne loved me…and “Don’t I know it.” I’m sure gonna miss that gal! Sending my love, thoughts, and ‘Aunt Anne’ hugs (the best kinds ever), to each of my great, big family members: to mom, and especially to each of in Indiana, California/S. Carolina, and beyond. …Let’s love like her. I love each, and all, of you. Nicole
Steve, Mary, Patty, Mark, and the entire family, Robin and I send our condolences and prayers, Anne was such a great woman to have known for so many years, going back to the 60s when I was in grade school remembering her truly genuine smile or truly genuine “disciplinary ” smile to convince us too stop with trouble we were about to be in, when helping out at St Catherines. She was the best at itߙ The comfort of knowing she is with our Lord now, hopefully gives you all the peace we could ever ask for. ❤ Chris & Robin Underwood
Thank you Chris that means a lot to us
